Sorry to hear that. But thats life and it happens. Anyways, what you can do is this: tell the truth, no 2 ways about it, but tell it when asked. You need not explicitly email programs and tell them that you have failed, but if they contact you, and ask what became of your exam, well tell them the truth. Most likely, places where you have already interviewed will get back to you and ask if they are interested in dishing out a prematch: I dont know what visa you are on currently, but depending on that and the institute's policy, this result might have an impact on their offer. Anyways, try to convince them that you will re-take the exam ASAP and will have it cleared in due time. If a program likes you as much as to offer a prematch, it will probably understand your situation and try to help. If not, well, this says volumes about how supportive the program will be to you later on...and anyways there is nothing you can do about it. I hope this has helped...goodluck!
