..Finally the day has arrived. One of the best cricketer of all times if not the best has announced his retirement....Warne's imminent withdrawal is not altogether a surprise. Nor is it a bluff. He will go and he will not come back. He has an acute sense of timing just like his gyrating ball and has roiled the whole cricketing world with this shocker..sad and touchy moment for all his fans...tHE most entertaining cricketer of all times, the legend. and certainlly a gods gift to the game ...Memories of his game will linger on ..Debate may rage about his status as a saint or as a sinner, but the fascination endures.

as healy wud say - "bawlin shaaane" my idol and hero - for both his off and on field activities. murali may overtake him - but he will never capture the following of shane. and there will always be the chucking tag with him. also more kids got into spin bcoz of warne than murali maverick extraordinaire shane warne - the undisputed spin baron

Agree Apurva The undisputed spin baron Feel priviedged to have watched this extraordinary man ..He was a delight to watch...No body is irreplacable in a game but warne is a whisker close to being irreplacable...He has left like a champion ...Gonna make the most of his remaining two test matches.. Warne says its not a sad time ..its a time to celebrate ..I am trying to make myself understand that . Moozy -good seems a belittling word for a mighty king as warne .And part of his might lied in his ability to remain a student of the game always and never behave like a master that he was ..WHatever the media might have made of his personal life ,he in reality is an enjoyable and upfront person with respect for others.

Met an australian attending this interview season....and he said that "we are the roughest red-necks when it comes to cricket - on or off the field"....guess he was referring to the famous (or infamous) sledging that goes on when australia takes the center stage...turns out he was a huge Sachin Tendulkar fan (ok..thats normal, ya cant eacape this dude's charm even if you are an australian) and he thought that Murali bowls better that Warne.... I dont know if he was serious or if he was just seeing whether I would take the bait and praise Murali in front of an Australian :-)

Just wondering if Shane Warne retired after getting to know that Laloo Yadav was to give management tips to Harvard Kids...
