hi guys ,
i am getting an lor from an internal medicine .pls tell me does waiving the right to see letter has more weightage then to not waive it . and should i ask the writer to mention aamc id in case i waive the right . i mean is the cover letter good enough for aamc id since it contains that .please guys be prompt in replying this . thanx

One letter writer of mine recommend me to waive rights because he said in this way letters weigh more. He was a PD for many years, so I guess what he said makes sense. Later on, it turns out his LOR is terrific from the feedback of interviewers.
Most letter writers mention if you waive the rights or not in the letter. But some interviewers may not have time to notice this. A couple of interviewers got my files 5 minutes before the interview and they seemed only reading the writer titles.
But it also depends. One of my friend got terrible letter from his former boss in a sealed envolope. Luckily, he found out and didn't use it at all.

hey thanks Evemimi. i ahve already sent the letter and i have checked on waive my right on the cover letter . is that ok since, i the letter writer has not mentioned that i have waived my right to see the letter , but on the envelope he has put his seal and signed . so pls tell me whether the eras will consider as waived or not waived . the letter writer did read it to me and the letter seems to be fine . anyways hows your IV'S coming . thanks

Actually I have no idea if ECFMG will check something when they scan and post the letter to refect the waiver of rights. Maybe...
I finished the majority of my interviews. I put good ones in November and December. Not sure if I did right. No prematch. Kind of being excited during each interview, and felt like I have good chance... But later when excitement fades, now I only feel anxious and panic. They may forget me totally with time. So many applicants, as you know.
