if you have canada PR is it any advantage for being able to get US visa of any kind?(I'm an IMG seeking residency in US)

ya it does help. i got visa for CS from canada ( i m also PR in canada ) but i got for single entry.
so u can try ur luck. just show them a letter from ECFMG and other documents like job letter, bank statement.

cool...drnih..see if you also have this problem...
I don't live in Canada yet ,I have about 1.5 more years to go in med school,after that I want to go to US for residency...which means I wouldn't physically BE in canada for 3/5 years to hold my PR status...it could jepordise the whole Canada thing...don't you have this problem?how do you deal with it?

nima, u r absolutely right. if i start residency before 2 yrs i may jeapardise my PR status. But its really difficult getting residency here in canada so i dont have any other options but to try US. i may try for 2008 match. Also i m in confusion regarding from where to take J-1 letter.

well right...I though I'm the only guy in this dilemma...I think I'd take both their tests and try to reach a decision in coming months...
contacting health canada didn't work for the letter?what do they want?
