Hi, why is alkaline phosphatse increased in osteomalacia? I can understand in Rickets due to rapid bone growth.

Osteomalacia is poor mineralization of bone. There may be a PTH effect on ALP activity but mainly ALP levels are (mildly) raised in response to tiny fractures of the weakened bone.
