You withdraw from the match and cancel any interview you have. you got the position. now you have to wait tell july to start working

Thank you for replying! I have cancelled my IV's and withdrawn from the match. I was just wondering how the individual programs proceed after signing a prematch .

GL!

Thanks!

I actually called and asked the PC that Q. She said that she would pass my queries along to the person concerned. Got a call and was told that they would do a background check first...I already gave them the written consent for that and it would take uptil atleast march and then they would send the actual contract in the mail and I just have to sign and return it. She said I should just sit and relax in the meantime.Well, this is one case senario, don't know about the others.GL

I had the impression that you sign something as soon as the prematch is offered.. it is one of the ways that you know for sure that the prematch is in order.. may be I am wrong... but a senior working in US asked me not to cancel any interviews until you sign some kind of contarct regarding a prematch..... may be there are two pieces of paper that you sign.... well someone with personal exp will be in a position to answer that.

I was offered a prematch by the PD a day after my IV. I was sent a OFFER LETTER wherein I was offered the PGY1 position and it was already signed by the PD. It was also cc to other heads of the hospital, etc. Also, included was the consent letter for a background check and a honor code form which was to be signed. as I said, the ACTUAL contract is signed later after the prelim. are taken care of. This place has given out prematches before and I really have no reason to doubt them. I trust in God for having gotten me here and trust in Him to take me all the way. I have done my bit to the best of my abilities. I have no idea about a preemployment PE etc...porbably somewhere down the line. Wish everyone the best!

Hi,

I think u could inform the programs where u have IVs from that are pending as well as the ones where u already interviewed via email that u are dropping out of the match. It won't hurt and u will be rest assured that u have done everything u could to avoid any confusion whatsoever.About programs that never responded after applying in the first place...I don't think anything needs to be done.

I was told my 'Real' contract will come in the mail sometime February after the background check... I think I will apply for state licensure after that Inshallah. Will reconfirm with the person concerned after the holidays.

Good to know u are also from Pakistan! Probably a Karachiite!!

thank you for the reply.... I am sending the paperwork for licesning today as well.. it takes 2 months b4 licesne is rcvd...

yes I am a karachiite... ..where are u from?
