I hear that Mt. Sinai in Miami Beach is not a very good program for Surgery. My roomate is a Resident there and he is appalled by the quality of the Residents. He is from Miami and specifically chose Mt. Sinai so that he could move back to his home state, but he says that nearly all of the Surgical Residents shockingly bad. Most are DOs and not MDs as well.
In fairness, my roommate is an Ivy League grad so perhaps this skews his opinion since the other residents are from DO schools like Nova Southeastern U.
