Hi all, How many programs do we have to rank in order to avoid the risk of unmatching? Just curious, does applicants match into a program of 10th choice or 15th choice on their rank list? Any ideas??

It's variable sarangi, statistically ranking between 10-15 should be enough, but we have a famous case in our college that everyone is afraid of...a dude who had 25 interviews, refused 5 prematches, and still went unmatched...I'm not trying to scare you..just telling u if you had an interview, and want to match this year....rank it unless you really really dont want to match with that program. Good Luck

not that i've that many ivs gd11, but wondering why some ppl with 10 or 20 ivs still get unmatched...thought only the first 5 to 8 choices are valid. Thanks nisha for the answer.
