hey guys,

thought i would let out my frustrations .... here goes

graduated in 2004, need visa, step 1 99/260, step 2 99/251, passed step2 cs, ecfmg certified, yet to write step3,

got IM ints in Rochester general, John Hopkins Sinai, Roger Williams-Rhode island, lincoln medical, bronx.

i guess my lack of usce and need of a visa are the greatest drawbacks....i am planning to do a fellowship after residency....so looking for a good program. I got a prematch from Roger Williams....unffortunately no fellowships and it is too small a program to get sufficient clinical experience. The reviews on lincoln medical , bronx are not good at all. I am in a fix as to what to do now. whether to go for the interview or not. if any of u guys know about lincoln medical,bronx....kindly let me know. I dont know whether to go with the match this time or wait for another year and do an observership or externship. Any advice is welcome.

thank you.

Shyam.

Programs In California, SF Bay Area:

Hi everyone! It's towards the end of January, so I suppose it's safe to say that I have no more interview invitations coming, hehe. My credentials: graduated from the Philippines 2002; 1 yr post grad internship, some volunteer work and moonlighting in home country. LORs from the Philippines. USMLE 83/85/passed on first take. No visa requirements. No USCE.

I thought I'd contribute to this list by adding the programs that have invited me to interview. Early on in the process, my husband and I have decided we want to stay in the San Francisco Bay Area, thus I applied only to the hospitals that area within 2 hours drive from our current location, haha! By the way, I applied to 10 FM programs and 11 IM programs. Got invitations from 6:

1. UCSF Santa Rosa- Santa Rosa, CA; Family Medicine

2. Stanislaus Family Practice- Modesto, CA; Family Medicine

3. Natividad Family Medicine Residency Program- Salinas, CA; Family Medicine

4. Alameda Highland Medical Center- Oakland, CA; Internal Medicine, Primary Care track

5. Methodist Hospital of Sacramento- Sacramento, CA; Family Medicine

6. San Joaquin General Hospital- Franch Camp, CA; Family Medicine
