i got only 78/192 on my usmle step 1......im an IMG from india
i need advice on whether should i continue with the step 2 or just leave the dream of getting into residency in the US
i got a couple of research publications and am working on 2 more
can a high score on the step 2 really help me or is the game over
with my publications, ive been dreaming of university programs in intrnal medicine !!!!!!
sincere advice desired, even if its shattering

rahul.doctor, try to get at least 90 on your ck, then get your step3 done before you apply, and you should be fine. Just learn from your mistakes and take your time for the CK; your don't want to blow this one. Your chances are still good. GL

research publication is very big plus when applying for residency. make sure your english is good, score above 90 on step 2ck, pass step 3, and if your interview goes well, then i dont see why you wouldnt get into int med at a university hospital.
