i am 2005 grad, have passed my step1(98/243), and CS.
i wrote Ck on 20th of november.hopefully reslut gonna be updated on 13th of december.
i have applied in 30 programes.few rejections but mostly are silent.
is there any body thinks that i should go for more programes,ot its hopeless case this year...plz advise me on this critical issue.

I think you already know the situation just like everyone else does. 1. There's always a chance, even up to the very end. 2) the later you apply, esp. without step 2 scores the less chance you have..and mid-dec. is very late.
So, ask yourself how much money you want to spend. No one else can make this decision for you. Whatever you do, don't regret it. Good luck to you and your bank account.
