Hello Friends,
I need a advise from you guys. I recieved a call from Program Director after 1 week of my interview and he said he wanted to offer me a prematch position. Since he had to renew the Contract , he said he would first send me letter of intent and then once the contract is renewed he would send me the contract. What is letter of intent? Is it sent via E-Mail or Postal mail? Is this a positive response? I would be thankful if anyone helps me out regarding this issue.

I think they will send u the original letter by postal mail,which will be signed by the PD. U will then sign it and return it to the PD. It will basically state that u have been offered this position and that u will be starting next yr as a PGY1 and that u ,too,agree to do so. The contract is signed later on towards june I think.Just my 2 cents.

Hey starblossoms...never heard about anything like 'Letter of Intent'...but it is surely a positive thing to hear something like that from a PD(these guys rarely fool around)...and yes contract letters are constantly renewed...so just wait and chill....u got it buddy...GL... amit

"Letter of Intent" are not common, but they do exist. In the programs that I worked in, they were treated the same as a contract.

hi starblossoms, congrats on securing prematch, do let us know which program offered after u u receive ur letter of intent,only if u dont mind....and dont forget to cancel ur other iv aswell

Hello Friends,
Thank u so much for the help. Once I recieve letter of intent I will let u know abt the program . Hope u all understand. I will cancel all other interviews once I recieve this letter and will let u know the programs where I have cancelled.
