BHCG and TSH both have the same Beta component in their protien. SO when one is increased the other is increased. Just so you guys know. I am very freaked out. Acintya tried to warn me about NNL exam experience but I must have mis understood her..I thought she said he said it was very doable..Of course I go to read that Do FA and RR and u will be sorted guys but no..u all have to read his exam experience.. Yeah bet u will lose sleep for a day or two. Then Edie writes hers. You can just make out one needs to work hard. Really hard. Can some one do it in as much time as i have left. Oh well. I don't know. But I want to give it my all. All I know is I have a splitting head ache. And what ever..I am going to do some Patho questions and then may be call it a night. Good night for now.

Tom I plan to complete cramming Goljan 100 pages, and FA. Sunday my friend comes over and she is going to take up my work. Will continue with 100 questions each of Kaplans and USMLE World.

Med, you are doing well going thru UW. They are definintely there on the real thing, as are NBMEs, USMLE CD q's. Kaplan Q's not there word for word, but those concepts are, so when you do Kaplan, go thru them carefully and make notes where needed. As far as Goljan's HY notes are concerned, the parts that he doesn't include in lectures, like genetics, pharm, micro and anatomy parts, those are worth a good going over. Do at least 3 passes of those particular parts of the HY notes. Every anatomy q I had, mostly limbs, is there in the anat HY notes. Commit yourself to FA, moreso than ever before. I recalled FA several times during my exam, so I find my time with it well spent Especially for micro, pharm and biochem-enzyme def's. Mnemonics in FA all came in handy as well. Keep on truckin', babe!

Hey edie: Thanks for the input. I will do as you say. I have done 3 blocks of 50 questions each from Path Kaplan CD that I have I got 66% 74% and wait for this 82%. that was just a laugh. Now I am going to take my patho KLN and FA and go to a park and commit myself to mugging/by hearting/ rattafication of most of my book. I will try and complete everything. I will leave CNS for before my friend comes tom morning. When I get back I want to revise the NBME form questions. I'll do sets today and do two sets tom. I plan to do 4 blocks of 50 questions each from UW on Monday. So until Monday FA it is.

Shwe: Thanks girl. I plan to listen to every one intently. I have just completed reading Immunopathology and genetics. I plan to read CVS, renal and respiratory before I sleep. Also do UW questions. Will be back after 3 hours with an update. Weekends are always slow for the journals, but is there anyone who is taking the exam with me. My final date is 17th September.

My friend and I went through all of Goljan questions that he has at the end of his RR. Subject wise. It took us around 4 hours to do that. But it was one awesome marathon session. What I know. I know and what I don't I don't. Now that seems very obvious. But here is the deal. Everything I have read and made the effort to understand is some thing that has stuck by me. No matter and how they ask, I knew it and I could answer it. Stuff like antimicrobials. Vessel anatomy..stuff that I haven't paid attention to was just not there. No matter how well it was spelt out to me. I just didn't get it. I have a lot to read. A lot of points to pick up. A lot to commit to memory. May be the next 14 days aren't good enough. But what I did get out of the discussion was that what ever i have studied has stuck by me. SO that gives me hope. If I work doubly hard in the next few days. I should atleast pass and may be with a lil grace at that. I am motivated and I am so going to kick ass. Thanks to my friend.

Hi Med, sounds like you had a very productive and motivating study day, that's great! You seem to have a better grasp on the rough spots, and know what needs to be smoothed out. Vessels--def know physio, how obstruction or decrease in diameter changes velocity, how this relates to pressure. Also know plaque formation from start to finish, emphasis on all the key players, e.g., cholesterol, it's oxidation, foam cells, etc. Tie in the drugs for atherosclerosis. If embolus to brain, where is most likely location, and how would this patient present? This will help the info stay in the noggin. See the bigger picture, and all those little details and nuggets of information will settle into place in your mind, to be easily recalled whenever you need it Happy studying!

Kity: That is all I am doing right now. One marathon session of cramming each day. Mytime: No woman, I am pretty much all over the place. But I am trying. Good luck to you too. KG: Hey thanks for dropping by. How is it coming along for you? Didn't do bits and pieces of pharmac last night. I was just too exhausted. I plan to EPI and BIOSTATS with weak areas of BS today and hopefully complete the remaining pharmac.

Acute alcohol intake inhibits CYP 450 where as chronic alcohol induces it. *hint* Goljan did give the mechanism but I can't find it in my notes. Can some one please tell me why and how. Thanks.
