HI
I am also looking to take the exam in april - may time frame ..and have just begun. I also work and have a baby .. I need a group which will keep me on track and stay focussed. I like the plan you guys have ..I am about 50% done with Biochem Kaplan.... let me know how do we go about this...My email is priceydoc@yahoo.com.

can i join this group too please. im a med student,thinking about taking the exam in july. i have just started studying for the usmle. im from india too!!!! luckily i dont have a kid, but uni is sooo tiring, so am having trouble studying for usmle, as i ave enough work to do wit college exams now. so any motivation will be greatly appreciated. my email is drmedstudent@gmail.com

hi to all of u.i too want to start my preperation.i was a silent observer now let me tell u about myself .
when i open book and read few pages i feel sleepy.what should i do ,how should i motivate myself.i feel all others r doing with a kid,but i am not able to.i want to write exam before ileave to india that is duing my kids summer (july),but the way i am studying tells me i can never ever write exam and pass with good score,sometimes i feel i am not good enough to be a doctor i am an average student in college.
when i hear who r mothers with kids and getting very good scores i feel they r so brilliant and hard working,which is lacking in me.
Oh God help me please,to motivate and make me study to get a good score.

As happymle said i want to write everyday progress no matter what little i studied.yesterday i too started with biochem but could do only 2 pages of amino acids.i hope today i would atleast do 5-10 pgs

HI everyone
Saw the group posting and thought I am in a somewhat similar position so would like to join. I am planning to take my step 1 in apr-june 2007. I am a mom and and old graduate from India. I would like to join in as well and write my daily progress. Just started studying a week ago. Have started with Biochem ...I still have CHO metab, Purine pyrimidines , hormones and Vitamins left. Got bored doing that so started with Genectics...Just did one chapter of that yesterday. Really slow ...BUt should catch up today.
I want to finish biochem and genetics this week. Hopefully...

Good morning,
Did 3 chapters of genetics and purine pyrimidines metab yesterday. Want to finish genetics today with vitamins and hormones. Wasted my morning...feeling really bad ..But will go now and get started.

today i did not read at all .today i wasted my time chatting with my old friends then i was doing other things some of which were important some were not so.
i am thinking to start seriously from next week.yes i will from monday.good luck more qbank ,

Hi all,
No news from anyone except docswapna. Hope all is well with everyone and studies are coming along fine. Swapna...I am a mother and a old Graduate. My first few days were alittle tough too...It took me some time to get back to studies..So dont feel bad...Just try reading a few pages everyday and things will start working out. BOL!
As for me I finished my first reading of Biochem and Genetics last week. Although I must admit that I am still not quite clear with some of my concepts in genetic mapping. Anyone want to discuss Genetics... Let me know.
Have started with Physio now. I am reading Kaplan ...Wanted to know if that is enough or do we need to read BRS/ or any other book as well?

Does anyone know what we should read for Patho? I have seen on the forum that everybody talks about Goljan. There are so many Goljan notes...36/100 250/100 500/100 and then highyeild ..are these all different. Is it better to buy his text rapid review...

i like the idea of group motivation.... i just started preps for step1 day before & am really glad to see all u guys out here starting out just like myself!
usually, on my own, i'm pretty bad in time managment, so hopefully a grp will have me motivated & on top of things.
I plan to sit for the test in june/july & i'v started with physio (kaplan).

hi everybody,
i want the motivation too.i am coming up with a plan.i am thinking to do first reading in 3 months.during these 3 months i want to first read the portion of which i am going to c video then c video then read that portion again.
it means that we should atleast be doing 40 to 50pgs per day.
i wanted to start with physio from monday.
i make plan but do not stick to it so please motivate me.
i will write my progress from monday.

hi everybody,
actually i am not feeling well,yesterday i had fever,even today i am suffering with runny nose,i got it from my kid as it is running in schools.
But as u know i told u i will start from today with physio ,i am starting now after finishing all my house work and after my kid is settled to go to sleep.
