hi everyone,
i am new to this forum.i applied thru eras this yr to IM residency programs.i received a very bad news that eras is investigating my application as my PS was plagiarised.i got it written by someone in my home country and didnt know that that person took it from the internet.i wrote the same to them and they told tht they will send a report stating what they have found and what i have replied to all the programs which i applied.i got 5 interviews .did 2 and have to do 3 more.do u have any suggestions what i shud do and what does all this mean?i am depressed .pls reply.

How do they know who took from whom.
I am surprised some one did sit down and google it.
Do they mention anywhere we are not supossed to copy or not take help from any one.
I can bet that each and every PS submitted will have atleast one phrase taken from internet or atleast similar meaning.

i know a friend who had a reject from virginia uni and when he inquired about the cause they gave him the 2 specific lines which were picked up from a ps in the inet. i did not believe it. but its true. he got a personal email from the pd..
it seems the better the place the more stringent they are wrt ur application. and hence always take the samples on the web for guidance. but dont c&p. and also dont subscribe to the various agencies who do it for a fee. who knows where their "inspiration" lies..

may be they received two almost identical PS from two candidates from the same country.

how about writing another PS... write urself and upload it... in the mean time ERAS will investigate this matter.... JUst a thought
