I am a IMG, need visa, grad in 2003, 3 mo USCE, 2 years of intership in my home country. 94/93/pass, ECFMG certified, step 3 scheduled for January, some research experience but no publications. Applied to 45 programs in mid october, 8 IV invitations, 8 rejections. I am really worried. The invitiations are from some of my top choice programs. They are really, really competitive (I have had 3 IV so far and in 2 of them I was the only IMG, basically the programs where I did my clinical rotations a few months ago, I felt like what the %&$$ I am doing here). Some programs that I thought were my safety net send me rejections. It is too late to apply to more programs? to which programs should I apply with my credentials?

take it as a good news. You are the only IMG. May be they liked you a lot and want to take one IMG / year, and you will be in.

hey i have come to a conclusion that i am not community hospital material...they have all rejected me...universities on the other hand are willing to give me a chance...this process is so wierd...i think there is no rhyme or reason for a lot of these things - at least in my case!!!
