hi, i see everyone asking for iv experiences without any luck. I wonder whther the reason is people are afraid to be at disadvantaged. weel i disagree, so here are my iv experiences. even amgs that are sometimes very criticized here for how competitive they are post their experiences; danbury hospital: started with introduction by associate program director for 20 minutes + breakfast. they sponsor h1B, and have most FMGS and also caribbean. in fact the current chief is from st george. prelim are amgs. they are starting a fellowship with 2 positions in cards and say they will take someone from in house (but noit necessarily residency, could be hospitalist, etc). they have place a few people in pulm/ccm, but i believe most go to hospitalist. then two IV with assoc PD and PD. very nice people no medical questions. laid atmosphere, seem genuine frinedly environment. then resident report, which i didnt like at all. i felt people were not engaged and there were only the same faculty that iv. PD and 2 asscoiate PDs. no conclusion, no teaching points. then lunch with few residents and tour of the hospital. residents claim it is busy hospital. others: they offer housing in front of hospital. teh area seem quiet but nice and not dangerous

my experience at Pensylvania Hospital, on 30th November Beganat 9am with Introduction by Chairman who wnet through the visa policies, program in general.. then a presentation about on - call schedueles, life of a resident, fellowship and the whole program in general by the PD. the group was then split in two.. one went for tour, other went for interviews. Interviews with 2 people, I interviewed with PD and one Faculty member, there was random allocation of people you are interviewing, but you interview with 2 only.. after that a luch with the residents, they were very friendly and answered all the questions... My impression : good program, happy residents, I liked it. Hope this helps someone

st vincents charity- Cleveland Breakfast + lucj served. Small program, 14 positions, 1 went to match last year, 6 out of 13 residents applied for fellowship, 5 got them in very respectable places, offers j1/H1 interview day quite long, very friendly and nice PCs, residents gave very good view of program, old building does not appear much maintained, 2 interviews, one with faculty and one with PD Basic questions : why us? weakness/ strenghts/ past exp/ plan for future... i was asked why left UK, why step 1 score not very good, what will you bring to our program... other said they were asked clinical questions...... All in all, it is okay program, and if one is good, can make the most of this program

interview mount auburn hospital day started introduction with PD- he asks questions to the interviees and write them in the borad then answers all of them one by one in about 40 minutes. then 5 minutes each of associate PD talk. everyone is very enthusiastic. there were many prelims and many categorical postitions. description: community hopital, 10 categorical + 10? prelim. lot of emphasis on teaching. workhours look 60-70 hours in pgy1. affiliated with harvard. all faculty from harvard. scholarly project is a requirement. great elective time that can be done anywhere including big uni harvard hospitals. 2 interviews with chairman and BD, no medical questions, usual staff about what you have done, what you will do, etc. visa. prefer j1, but they said they ocassionally support H1 and will do it for me. tour of hospital, modern state of the art, the hospital is expanding, there is some private practice attendings (1/4 of admission). on call you just admit, no crosscover, which is great. meeting with interns and residents in a room for 45 minutes (no faculty allowed). luck with housestaff and wrap up with PD. overall, very good program, everyone looks happy, good luck, ngt.

Interview Baystate Started with morning report - quite impressive hospital tour by chief resdient...Later introduction by PD, then interviews by 2 members.. a few interviewed with PD, a few with Chairman, I interviewed with 2 attendings..... routine questions.. then visit to Clinic site, luch and followed by a quick wrap up they did ask us for a second visit.. i am not sure if i will have time to go..... lets see.. one of the best places I assume, and i really liked the faculty and ppl... it is a kind of program, I would love to be in ... BUT all the interviewees were ameraican grads.... and i have my reservations how IMG friendly they are, but the PD said he tries to make a combination of both... I am not very sure how they liked my application & interview PD said they will consider applicants for prematch next week .. and he would like me to finish all the interviews before i consider a prematch here ( that is if they call me next week for prematch).. otherwise he said he would still rank me high.... All in all.. a very good program with veru good opportunities.. and I must say that the PC is one of the most wonderful persons.. i simply loved her
