Hi guys..just thought of checking out how programs are doing in terms of responding with interviews/rejections...

As of today, I am still to hear from 38 programs!!! (which form >65% of my application chunk!)

How are you guys doing?

OK,

I have applied very late, only the first week of November, to 77 programs. Got e-mail rejections from 20, got 3 IVs (one invitation came just today). So, I called about 30 programs to ask about my status and I had the following feedback:

~ 20 programs: "if you have not heard from US until now, that means that you were not selected for an IV"

~ 5 programs: the coordinator actually asked my name and checked my status and I heard NO after that.

~ 5 programs: "we are still selecting candidates, so you can hear from us in the next couple of weeks."

So, please could anyone else share its own experience?

Thanks

Helops

I applied 9/04. no answer from 61 program despite regular emails I sent. Should I call em?

I got my ecfmg cert after I submitted my CAF latter eras status report was uploaded and programs downloaded it so I hope that helps coz the status reports show if you are ecfmg cert and when it was issued.smiling face

My case: applied to 93 prog on Sep 13th, no news from 56 prog (60%) as of today. The rest 40% is of course IVs + rejections.

aplied to 120 programs.. 7 calls so far.... 50 rejections

Frankly, I am not very optimistic regarding these 65% which have virtually swallowed my application and not considered me (and my creds and most importantly, my $25) as worthy of even sending a rejection or "still reviewing" email(read as "go figure dude, we aint gonna move our a$$ and bother to look up yr stupid application")

In fact, in a fit of agony, I emailed a University Program Associate PD requesting what becoame of my application. Well, this guy atleast replied, telling me: "WE are not currently offering any further inverviews: GOOD NEWS" ...I wonder whether this last bit (good news) was written down unintentionally (like in..wwriting good day..but putting down good news instead, unwittingly) or was meant as a scathing remark...

Anyways, I have given up on these 65% programs; probably some of them will eventually make the supreme effort, taxing all their resources to finally send me a rejection email....for my own part, I am gonna give up calling/emailing these guys and focus on what I have got...and save me the remorse of harboring "hope beyond the shadow of despair" (..keats, I think, not so sure)

goodluck guys, hopefully I'll be able to grab a prematch like some lucky guys here...(no premium on dreamin, eh?)

Unfortunately, residency programs don't get your $25 - the ERAS program does.

True...but if an applicant shows as much interest as to apply to a program, isnt the program morally obligated to atleast inform the applicant what became of his application, in a reasonable time span? Isn't that what is known as courtesy?
