hi kald,

thanks for your compliments,no i have not yet attended any interview.i have scheduled st.elizabeths on 30 th jan 2007.are u interviewing there any news.well, there is no point having good credentials without being able able to get into residency.i got 9 interviews so far ateending only 7 because the other 2 are not sponsoring h1.do you think i can make it this time.going by our co applicants on this forum i am getting bit worried with some attending nearly 30 interviews.aah....i somehow managed to get the interview from cleveland.

anyway good luck with your interviews and future career.

hi,
I applied in september and even I have got about 9 interviews. I havent heard from many places yet. I have applied only in the east coast. I interviewed in St. Elizabeth in october, its a nice place but its difficult for them to sponsor h1 visa

hi ,

just wanted to mention about cleveland clinic.i interviewed there.i can without doubt say it was my worst interview experience.the program is just useless trying to attract best by its name in other specialities.i was interviewed by 4 residents,1 program coordinator,2 faculty and 1 chair no program director.i could not understand why i needed to be interviewed by 4 residents and coordinator.the coordinator did not even knew the basics of interviewing.she was late, didnot read my cv prior, she did not even attempt to make eye contact with me.she had 2 big computer moniters in between and i had to look in between to make eye contact.i can understand cheif residents interviewing but why a 2yr and 3 yr resident.i have 5 yrs experience in psych i was embarassed when the 2yr resident finished his interview in 5 min when i started to explain my psychotherapy exp.the 3yr resident was doing some research and seem to be well known so he hada bit of ego i think.he asked me what was my opinion on homosexuality which i cannot understand will be useful in evaluating me.he was an img and was trying to ask useless and overly thought questions no way useful in evaluation.the faculty were fine and the chair was excellent.

the program has 4 position of which 1 will be prematched itseems leaving 3 positions .i think its just a waste of money and time to interview there.the worst program ever i have been .

any comments please

are you judging the program as a bad program or the interview as a bad interview? big difference between the two. i failed to see from your experience how it is a bad program? it does look like a crappy interview though.

any program that doesnot how to value its incoming residents cannot be a good program by any standards.i have attended about 10 interviews and can say with confidence that .

First, congrats on your very many interviews. hope they go well.

yes youre somewhat right when you say programs that dont value incoming residents cant be good program by any standards. but labelling a program bad because an interview experience was lousy in a public forum paints the wrong picture though, dont you think?

people may go around thinking its a bad program quality wise just because you had a bad INTERVIEW experience. but we all know those are 2 completely different things.

of course what you say is absolutely right.however i think people who read this forum are mature enough to understand when i talk about my experience and when i relate it to the progarm.i think its right to speak what you feel about the program and let people who read it make the choice for them.i was also trying to convey the message interview in cleveland clinic does not seem to matter much in their final ranking process.if you feel i am wrong i apologise but thats the way i feel after visiting the program after having to attend an expensive interview during a precious period
