Tocket and lillny, congrats. I am very happy for you guys. I have 7 IV in other specialties with low scores. I am not sure if 7 IV is enough for a person like me who is not sure about his interview skills. Tocket where in Europe did you work? I am from Germany.

I practiced anesthesiology, Emergency and Intensive care Medicine in Vienna/Austria for 5 years. University-based programs were very impressed by my application and many of them called me for IVs. Some of them offered me prematches.

beefoxy, i have 1 yr clinical experience in chicago doin externship, and 5 months observership (after my insurance ran out and couldnt afford more. i couldnt get a research position) in NYC. i was able to get few LOR's, but used the ones from the chief of surgery and anesthesia. studyin for step 3 now, but ecfmg certified. I applied widely, some 120 programs, 30 anesthesia, 28 prelim im, 20 prelim sx, and transitional. I applied to every state on the east coast, ohio, ill. have most of my iv's in ny though. about a month back i email the programs that i though i had a chance, i heard back good or bad from 70% of them. GL, hope that helped
