Dear All,
Can you help me decide whether I should buy Kaplan video for Step2 CK? Is it a must?

Whether the Kaplan videos are a must really depend on the individual, and how he/she studies. I am currently studying for step 2 and using the kaplan videos, since I had severe doubts about my capabilities I also took the Live lectures. I found the live lecture very informative.
For the tapes some of them are great like medicine and ob/gyn others just read out of the lecture notes especially surgery and peds. I found the best way to study was in a group so that you complement each others weakness.
So to answer you question: No the tapes aren't a must. I'm an IMG and had a friend who just used the lecture notes and got 85%.

Thank you very much for the reply.
I am preparing for Step 2 now but do not have the money and time to sit in a live lecture. However, I have been away from these clinical knowledges for about 10 years and this makes me feel I need some more instructions than just reading the books. I hope the live lectures can help me understand the materials I read from the books. That's the purpose for me to buy the videos.

hi data..
i m new to all this....m a 4th year med-student studyin in Russia..and...wish to take step2ck first ...and after that step1.
as i got 3 years..for mydegree to get over..i got time to prepare!..
but i m nt satisfied by the Russia methodology of teaching..and i guess i hhave to do somethin myself..regardin..prepz..
Can you please suggest me..if for a case like mine...when i donot consider academics...can Kaplan lecturenotes and videolectures be enough to Clear Step2ck?
Also can yuou please tell me..frm where can i arrange these lecturenotes n videotapes.
i wud be thankful for ur suggetion!

dear mac 7 what u need for step 2 is kaplan books+ qbank+uw all this are must do. if u got a little time (and money) is worth videos because u will have a lot of pics iin exam,u need pics
