i took my exam on sept 14 2006 in philly. still awaiting results. out of the 12 cases i did not have a clue on the diagnosis for 2 of them. one of those cases went very very badly. does anyone know if they score your best 10 or are there 2 experimental cases that are not scored?
i am so scared that i failed this and that i will not be able to participate in the 2007 match. i am a united states med student and everyone says this exam is easy but i felt it was rather difficult. the sps i had did not answer open ended questions i really had to probe for the info. some of my classmates said that they asked an open ended question like "so what brings u in today" and the SPs just told them everything. this was not the case for me. but i did ask a lot of specific questions. unfortunately i definitiely missed the diagnosis for two cases and now i am almost certain that i failed.
i cant believe that i have to wait a total of 12 weeks to get this back. for the past 10 weeks all i have done is go through my mistakes in my head. can anyone offer and advise? any similar experiences?
to all who have not taken the exam my advise is study for this and make sure to ask specific questions. this is not an exam to be taken lightly

hi dude, I'm waiting the result like you. So I can understand. I can not answer your Q that you will pass or not. I can not answer that Q for myself neither. But I would say we should keep a positive thinking. I guess you are busy with the IVs, concentrate on those things so time will go faster.

well, I really dont know how I did. Ran out of time in 1 case in the middle of closure, some cases I feel that the SP were not very convinced with my answers to the challenging Qs. Forgot and purposely omitted many maneuvers in PE in order to be on time. PN were so so at least I think.
In over all, I am not satisfied with my performance due to pressure (i'm not complaining!! That happens to all of us, right?)

I also took my exam on sept 15th & am still awaitimg results & like u I'm also feeling like I might have a nervous breakdown any moment.

I'm also going crazy. I wish we could do the OASIS trick but I don't think I should unless I am absolutely certain that it is going to be accurate. One friend told me that I can check it after 2 months and another told me tha she checked it after a month but this was all last year and it depends on the month of examination I think. i can relate to all of you. i am obsessed with this exam. in nine days we shall know the results hopefully. i am so afraid of finding out the results. if there is one exam to fail i would have rather failed ck than cs as at least i would be able to retake ck in time for the match. oh well lets wait and see what happens

I am waiting for the result too, I toook mine on Oct 18th, did not finish one encounter without closure, also one STD case did not counsel well, forgot imp points, rest cases were ok, I hope I pass, my heart is pounding ...

Hi sopranos79 ,I'm in the same boat.....!!!I took my CS in LA last october 28, about the questions that I did ,I think were enough..., about my pattients notes...were fine not perfect but ok,with the phisical ex. I FORGOT to do DVT test, sensation to sharp/dull...,not in the same patient, in different ones, in one case I HAD TO LEAVE BEFORE DE CLOSURE, in one case I HAD TO LEAVE while I was doing the closure and summary, whit my 2 pediatric cases they were anxious and nervous and of course me too!!! but I made many questions.PLEASE COULD ANY ONE PREDICT IF I GOING TO FAIL OR PASS THIS TEST?????...
this waiting is killing me...!!!I fell that the USMLE/ECFMG is playing whit my life....this waiting is too long, unfair and unnecessary...

hi i too took the exam in september and i am eagerly waiting for the results.As people say u always remember abt the mistakes u made and this has been a long and important wait for everyone going for match 2007.I also wouuld like to thank all the members of this forum for being of immense help even though we all dont know each other.Great job guys .All the best for the results
