I just blew away one interview... is so lame that makes me laugh gringringrin, anyway I'll tell you what happened so you won't commit the same mistake.

The interview started as any other interview: PC greets you, gives you some documents to read and sign, talks a lil bit about the program and mention that the PD is in charge of the day's morning report... and she said: IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE DO SO IS BETTER... I thought that by participate she meant, you know, ask questions and tell what you think about the case... SO WRONG!!!! Lucky (or unlucky) for me the patient described looked just the same of one tough case which I saw during clerckships... I thought: shoot!! this is my oportunity to shine!!!... so when the PD ask if someone has something to ask or to say, I asked a couple of things and then puked my impresive differential telling what I think might explain most of the physical findings... the answer was... OK... and then continued speaking as if I wasn't said anything. I knew that I screwed up big time, so tryed to keep a low profile the rest of the interview... the PD gaves us a speech in which mentioned thing like.. "I don't care if the applicant have big scores, International graduates have done everything but most of the time without supervision", and some more stuff that certainly made me felt not wellcome at all... I know that some paranoia might have a role in this but I certainly knew that that place was not for me...

Well, that's it... so all of you be carefull when you try to show off a lil bit during your interview... I did not mean to look like a prick, but apparenty the PD took it that way...

Good luck y'all!!!

dont worry it happens
no one is a perfectionist
but u feel that u gave a wrong answer or that u shoulnt have participated and sat quitely in the case presentation
well if they thot u were acting like an egoist then its bad but i dont think it was as bad as u feel

Dudes, no, I don't feel bad at all, as a matter of fact the other programs I've been at are way better... just wanted to give an advice to keep in mind if someone gets into a situation similar to mine...

You know Isther, in life there is just one way to stand out: you have to shoot. you can loose your target and fail. But you must be proud of having tried. If you had stayed quietly and timidly in your corner, you wouldn't have shined anyways. This is the cost of ambition: you have to shoot. But next time, avoid precipitation and think twice before shooting. You'll see: you'll kill it.

Very good thing to point out

I'm sure you did well on that IV. Good luck

Happy Thanksgiving to all of us

Hello everyone! I think what Isther did was the right thing to do. The mere fact that the PC told Isther and I quote, " IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE DO SO IS BETTER" was what Isther just did. I think the PD misunderstood Isther's agenda and took it the other way.Dont worry Isther, you did the right thing. Its better to participate than to keep quiescent in a corner. I reckon that you might step on the PD's ego.hehehe.or probably you overdid it.either way, you did what you believed was the right thing to do.
