I have a little thing I'd like to know and I'd like to ask bbb or others that know, how should I do it. if I'm sending a mail to someone, how should I begin? in the past I sent some mails and because I didn't know how to begin I wrote: "Mr. John Smith," for example and all of them answered begining "Dear Manuel,", but I don't find it apropriate, nor polite to respond "Dear X". In romanian, my native language, we begin with something like "Esteemed Dr. X,". Is this header used in english? Because I couldn't find, nor think any other.. Also, let's say I write a e-mail and I am online when the proffesor responds. Is it appropriate to send my response imediately after I get his response, or should I send t the next day not to be qualified as annoying? Thank you in advance for your response.
