i wanna ask u guys something about physical exam. 1. when telling the SP about the part u are going to exam, how detail do u must say? for example, i need to inspect your lungs now and i need to tap on your lungs and i need to listen to your lungs now. do u have to say for every single maneuver u do? 2. do u need to explain the findings?? say.. i inspect your lung and find nothing abnormal.. i tap on your lungs, nothing abnormal.. do u have to say all those?? 3. what if u have to say a medical term, say.. psos sign.. do u have to explain the sign? thank you

1. dont waste time explaining too much about routine exams.."time's precious on the CS - before u begin the whole examination process, "Mr. Smith, let's do a quick general examination and then have a closer look at your lungs" - then AS YOU examine the RS - say it along in brief - dont explain it AND THEN do it ..that takes more time 2. Do all explaining only at the end of whole exam. Dont really have to explain the findings of EACH examination point 3. no need to say the name of clinical signs - jst explain to the patient what he needs to do and wut u will do "I shall keep this partof ur belly pressed deep for sometime and then release it immediately - it may pain a bit, but will help us diagnose better. if you feel any sudden pain when I release my hand ..let me know." for rebound tenderness...
