Very little with only 30 programs, 2nd attempt and late application. The average successful 2006 IMG candidate is: scores in the upper 80s in first attempt, 1999-2003 graduate, GC or citizenship, ECFMG certified, 70+ applications, USCE, research exp. very strong letters or recommendation and EARLY APPLICATION!! (early-mid september). Again this is an estimated average..... This year there is a pool of extremely good of applicants! and it is going to be worst next year. Good luck

HI - I'm an older grad too, scores of 82/91/no attempts/need visa and I have to say faaa78 is right. I applied late and its very frustrating. but you never know, so don't give up!

hi I think it's just the timing same thing happened to me last year. I applied Nov 7 and to 60 programs, got 2 iv. did not match, I applied this year Sep 17, documments aploaded 25, got first interview Oct 13, I have 9 interview right now. step 1 82,step 2 86 cs and certified,gc,ongoing us experience since May, 2 average us letters. graduated 98, 5 years gab no medical experience. my advice wherever you the experience, try to use the people you know to get some ivs. anyway, do not give up .
