God almighty is great!
hello everyone.this forum has been a great help for me and now its time for me to write my experience.i took my test on the 23rd of oct.oasis was updated on the 15th of nov.i checked my oasis with shivering hands and anxious heart but finally saw the red screen as a ray of hope.only God knows my life's setbacks and various failures.my score report arrived the next day.its 191/78%.believe me its no less than 99 for me.this is not my first attempt.last time ie 6 mnths ago i got 73%/177.
now about the exam,all the subjects were very well balanced. i can say one thing ,please make your basic concepts clear.i had a wide variety ,some very simple straight forward questions to very tough ones.ct scans,mri,hand drawn pictures of brain sections and immunology(allotypes,isotypes),many many histology slides,cell biology,genetics, hardy weinberg calculations,odds ratio,ppv,u name it ,its there.pharmac was basically MOA,physio ,ample endocrine, graphs going up and down,behv was defense mechanism,dr-pt relationship.
i did kaplan for all subjects except brs for physio.in addition to kaplan ,i read high yield for cell and molecular,neuroanatomy,immunology,biostatistics.i didn't do first aid(unlike others). i did kaplan q bank,cumulative was 62%.i did nbme form 3,410/ 191/78 about 3 wks before and 5 days before the exam did form 2 490.i could have easily scored like my form 2 ,but my confidence melted away the day of the exam(please please stay calm and control your thoughts).i started to think what if i have to do this all over again and so forth.(in my last attempt i was expecting a score of 85+ but failed) .But iam so glad that God decided to pass me depending on the effort ,time and energy i put for this test.After the exam i was so sure that i have to redo this exam.Finally my God helped me .now i believe that His delays are not His denials.people like u and me have lots and lots of patience .we r tested to be filled with abundance later in our life.
iam writing this experience not for those who have done well in their first try but for those who are struggling to finally get this step out of the way.YES U CAN DO IT,YOU HAVE TO DO IT.AND WE WILL BE THE BEST IN OUR FIELD.
i very well know the path that i have come thru.iam more humbled with this success.i may not be a good test taker but i know iam a good doctor.i could do this becos of the trust my parents had on me and also on Almighty.("you will not be tested more than u can bear").when u have done ur best just leave everything to God.He has a plan for us.when u pray don't bug Him to pass u but to show u what is better for u?
we have been brought to this land of oppurtunity with a purpose.Achieve ur goal before u think about any other alternative no matter what .May God bless us all.
about me,iam an old graduate>9 yrs.was practising paeds in my country.i have already passed step2 cs.iam off to ck.i want to do much better in that.i know i have slim chances for match but i won't quit till i achieve what i want to and that is prove myself i can do it.

congratulations on your sucess i really appreciate your honesty & every word you wrote is correct & you are right may be one is not a good test taker but he can be a very good doctor i am very happy for you & wish you sucess in all fields of life this usmle is just a little thing, infact, in life there is much more important things........ again best of luck for every thing in life.

i have passed step1 and also step2cs.iam planning to try atleast in the postmatch.so what should i do?
should i register in eras and get a token?would that be valid for the next year?
iam planning to take step 2ck and get certified before the match result.
so what would u guys advise me.(as i have no good score in step1 and also have attempt).
any input is highly appreciated.
