BARIUM SWALLOW IS THE INITIAL TEST DONE IN ALL PATIENTS WITH DYSPHAGIA ENDOSCOPY IS DEPENDENT ON THE FINDINGS OF BARIUM SWALLOW .INCASE OF ZENKERS DIVERTICULUM ENDOSCOPY SHOULD BE AVOIDED

barium swallow is superior to endoscopy in certain clinical scenarios like:
- volvulus
- linitis plastica
- rolling hiatus hernia
