Hello......please consider my scenario.....sincere advice desired even if my dreams may get shattered !!! i have 6 months left at the top medical school of india. my problem is my step 1 score is 78, step 2 is 99, yet to take the CS i have a couple of research publications and am working on 2 more i ahve dreams of making it to university based internal medicine programs ...is it possible with these scores im askin this bcos i heard a lot of programs have individual cutoff for usmle scores.... can my step 2 compensate for my step 1 ? can i manage US clinical experience ? (they only ask for step 1 scores) can US clinical experience and LOR solve my problem i'll be thankful for sincere advice

Some univs do have cut off scores, it seems to differ from place to place. but you have a stellar Step 2 score, and that will help. I am long out of med school, but I read elsewhere on this forum, that id you're still in school you can request for a clinical rotation which could be a strong factor for admission. I would urge you to contact pgms you are interested in and ask about it. Good Luck!
