Hello! I 'm very happy right now and i want to share with u, because this forum was a great help for me and it kept me motivated. You guys are all awesome! I 'm an IMG, graduated in 2005. I prepared step 1 for 6 months, at the begining studying 3-4 hours/day, and in the last month aprox 6-8 or even 10 hours/day, including week-ends. Studied manly from kaplan lecture notes (it was an older edition -2002- but this exam is about concepts and it was ok). I also used BRS for pathology, and First Aid 2005 for the gross anatomy and pharm section. Did 2 readings, except pathology, wich i read only once (not enough time) . I did q-book, after the first reading of every book, than , after i read all the books once , i did kaplan q-bank online, along with my second reading. the final review was with usmleworld questions. I also did Robbins pathology questions, after reading BRS pathology. did NBME form 4, 1 month before the exam. My exam was more like NBME and the USMLE cd and covered all areas and subjects. Still..i think i had more pharmacology and physiology. A lot of graphs from physio and pharm, a lot of drug interraction and adverse effects. Also, a lot of endocrinology, with thyroid diseases, ambigous genitalia and all sorts of diseases. little embryo and anat. Ethics, situations and "say this or that " ques. Overall, the questions were 40-50% easy (guys, please read the basics and u will ace this exam!!!) , 5-10% never heard of, 10% tough and the rest was in between. After 5 looong weeks i received the score report. It was a pass, with 241/97. Scored "higher performance " in all the subjects, EXCEPT, of course , the great behavioral sciences, where i was borderline (not borderline personality i hope ). Thanks again to all of you !! Wish you all good luck with your study and tests and all the best!!!!

i took the kap q-bank on line, the updated one. about uw...i can only say that for me was a great review, because i couldn't stand to open those books again, and i think that it also raised my score with about 5 points in the two digits scale. Great questions with great explanations

thank you, guys mona, i think kaplan's microbiology&immunology book is the best for this exam (concise and high yield stuff). If you want more infos u can try Appleton & Lange (extensive information, but not so easy to follow), but i strongly suggest you read kaplan and to add Appleton when u don't understand. Good luck
