hi i am a medical student from one f the top schools in india.

my problem is my step 1 score is 78/ 192

what can i do know to maximise my chances of making it to a university based internal medicine program ?

or am i dreaming too much ?

can a good step 2 score compensate for this ?

ive got a couple of research papers my name and am continuing 2 more works

can i even get USCE (im still in medical school) with this step 1 score ?
can that solve my problem partially

i'll appreciate any sincere advice, even if my dreams of an academic internal medicine program are ruined

please advice---could i even manage to get a Residency with this score ?

Dear Sir

here im asking about intrnal medicine, is the game over here also ?

Depends on your Step 2 score - keep in mind however that some univs have individual cut offs for each step

  #5

that is exactly what i want to know, do they impose the cutoff rules very strictly ?

dont they read the whole application to check for a few other credentials ?

like if i manage US clinical experience....

and moreover, my couple of research works and 2 more that im into, that should be over by the application time

wont all this be taken into consideration ?

and also if i score high on the step 2 and 3 .....

please advice me on how to increase my chances

should i apply for a Prelim medicine program ? or transitional year ?

the fact is i cant give my step 1 again and cant wait 7 years to get into Residency

is it possible to enrol into a community program and then shift the next year or may be reapply through ERAS ?

i understand the odds are against me, but is the game over with step 1 score ?

i'll truly appreciate comments and advice
