have interviews every 3-4 days across the country. now will be having big suitcase/bag to keep luggage. also small bag for laptop and suit and interview essentials. now issue that arises is lugging around big bags and checking them every few days is a serious headache. chances of stuff getting lost and misplaced at airports. one option is i carry only minimal hand luggage for interview. problem which arises then is that i have to keep my big suitcase at some place and after each interview go back to that place increasing expenditure plus being inconvenient as IVs are every 3-4 days. other option is carry the big suitcases with me all along and pray they dont get lost/misplaced. any suggestions as to what u guys are doing if u have so frequent interviews...

hey guys First point, if you are flying- Make it a point - NEVER NEVER CHECK IN UR SUIT BAGGAGE. THEY WILL GET LOST. second thing if you dont check in ur baggage there is a new rule by FAA- YOu cant carry liquids more than 3 OZ. go to walmart or any store and buy everything in travelling size. All of it should fit in 1 quart bag. only 1 bag per person. You can take your bag to interviews. Try to tokeep it a smaller suitcase, like the one you can check in. try to minimize the clothes. may be you can check if the airports have lockers where you can keep your bigger suitcase. Hope this helps. take care Dev

Get a bag which can carry both the suit as well as luggage and pack light so that everything will fit into it. http://www.ebags.com/travelpro/flightpro_4_horizo...

You cannot take any liquid and gel into flight, like shampoo, hair gel, toothpaste, ... unless they are transparent and less than 3 oz. Maveick, if you gonna stay at hotel, you can check out and leave your baggage in front of hotel desk, they watch yours. However, it is better to carry your small siutcase, whenever you go. I am not in agree with carrying laptop, because it is a bit heavy and you don't need it at interview. you can find computer with Internet in the hotel's lobby.

hi loser you can take ur shampoo, but it should be in a small travel size container no more than 3 oz. go to walmart and buy them. If you carry suit bag then that is one of your carry on. the next thing can be only small bag. I agree with amer, laptop is not needed in nterview. put it in ur suitcase and leave it in hospital lobby.

what happens if the suitcase (which needs to be checked in) gets misplaced, and by the time it arrives u have already moved on to a different city. wont that be a major problem? its obvious that the suit and interview stuff needs to be as handbags. but the check in baggage has chances of getting lost. another thing - are we allowed 2 things as handbags - 1) suit in a bag 2) small bag with laptop, documents, other IV clothes. OR does US have a 1 handbag rule?

You can travel with 2 things as handbags... the suit and a small suitcase is allowed... I did it without problem... you can even travel with a small suitcase, a suit and a small handbag. Just don't make the bags too heavy and follow the new regulations like the 3 oz, sharp things etc... The main point is, during flights NEVER loose your bags from sight...always in your hand. If you have a flight just after the interview, you check out in the morning before going to the interview (because checkout time is always at noon) and ask the clerk to hold your bags for a while, most hotels even have a storage for that. Peace

Don't check in your luggage, carry a medium size suitcase and bag to the airplane. All people do this. you won't waste your time standing in line for check in and after arrival, you can leave the airport without waiting for your baggage to come.

maverick You can take 2 items on board..One cabbin bag and one personal item which could be a laptop(only the material laptop not the thought ) When you loose a bag in transit ,usually they deliver it within 24hrs.same day or next day in most cases.Have your bag display your name everywhere (even on the wheels).when they loose your bags the airliners ask you to give you a description of your bag .I make a tatoo of my bag on their cheeks so they dont forget. Advice -pack as minimally as you can .You will realize during your trip that you dont use half of your stuff that you thought was essential (may not apply to females) About sum of the comments on this thread-provisional diagnosis =frontal lobe white matter degeneration.

Indeed Maverick... For my CS, I traveled with a 21x12x8 inches suitcase, for all my personal stuff, and the garment bag with a white coat and a suit, both with me during the flight and with no problem at all.
