its strep. agalactae and EColi in newborns. If the child is not vaccinated than H.Influenza is also added to the list.

I agree with you asmi, but for infants and children its 1st -Strep Pneumonia(which is not typeable), 2nd N meningitidis. S. Pneumonia is also most common in elderly :idea:

Thanks mjl. so,it means strep. penumoniae is also among first choice for a newborn with meningitis. they say that H.influenza seen commonly from 1-5 yrs age group, N. meningitis is common from 5 to 40 yrs age.

No, you were correct newborn (up to 6months) -Group b Strep and E.coli kids-Strep Pneumonia and Neisseria 6-60years -Neisseria and enterovirus [an infant is considered 1year and under] :shock:
