40. A 9 year old girl is sitting in the waiting room grunting and frequently blinking her eyes. She is also clapping her hands an knocking on the wall three times at irregular intervals. She starts to shout obscenities. Her mother states that she has been doing this for over a year. Which of th efollowing is the most likely diagnosis?

A. Obsessive-compulsive disorder
B. Schizophrenia
C. Stereotypic movement disorder
D. Tourette syndrome
E. Transient tic disorder

I narrowed it down to A and D...
Which one is the right answer and why?

D.. tourette syndrome... shouting obscenities..

I thought Tourettes also because shouting obscenities, but what lead me to OCD was the knocking on the wall three times at irregular intervals.

Right answer is Tourettes... D
