36. A 23 year old sexually active nulliparous woman complains of cyclic, bilateral breast pain. She has taken ibuprofen for he rpain on and off for the past week without relief. Her temperature is 37.2 C (99.0F) BP: 124/78 mm Hg, Pulse 82/min. External exam is unremarkable except for tenderness in both breasts. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

A. Cystosarcoma phyllodes
B. Fibroadenoma
C. Fibrocystic breast disease
D. Intraductal papilloma
E. Mastitis

Can someone please review the difference between B and C... I sometimes confuse them. sad Thanks. smiling face

fibroadenoma... benign... freely mobile mass .. AKA breast mouse.. (oops is tht wht they call it.. im not sure) painless.. anyway think of adenoma... its a tumor...
in fibrocystic disease.. its a diffuse cystic enlargement due to the cyclic hormonal change... painful..cystic cyclic.. hope its easy to remember...
