hi, can any one tell me how can we differentiate cardiac tamponade and Pulmonary embolism clinically,,any strong differentiating features...HERE IS A Q... A). ,,,A 60 yr old man brought to ER by paramedics,with sudden onset dyspnea,, s1 s2 normal, s3 heard, clear lungs, pco2-16, po2-70,.etc..... B) ,,,. a 60 yr old man brought to ER by paramedics,with sudden onset dyspnea,, s1 s2 normal, s4 heard, diffuse crackles...., pco2-16, po2-70,...etc...rest of the data is the same... so ..which one is tamponade and which one is PE....PLS HELP... TAHNX N GL

i once read that there r clear lung fields in cardiac tamponade but not in pulmonary embolism

What will be the answer if the q states, dyspnea,low BP, HR - 120/bmp,JVP Increased,S4,and a right parasternal heave,with mild alkalosis on ABG and CLEAR LUNGS ? Is this embolism or tamponade?
