... it is frustrating to see lakhs of people trying for residency this year i am scared of thinking how is it goin to be next.i am graduating this year, finished step 1 (99)..no USCE..need visa...no research nor publication...please tell me wat are my chances..this is imp cause i want to spend money wisely..if it is goin to be difficult i might drop the plans and try my home residency

Ok..so guys..i have been a silent reader of this forum after i failed my step 1 last year. I passed with 190 on 2nd attempt...passed step 2 CS and just found out tht failed step 2 CK...I applied to 73 programs so far..and got rejections from 2 today..one i am sure didnt look at my application and the other one emailed me saying "a member reviewed your application package but an interview was not requested" ..so what am i looking at here...Do i have a chance to score a position this year? please guys..you have been very helpful to everybody...help a sister out too...Thanks..

I will try to be honest, I would start working on my next match application while waiting for this match results. Study well for CK, get USCE, USLORs.... Start Now! This match your chances are not so good, but it would be excellent if you start preparing a much better application for next year....
If you happen to get interviews I wish you all the best...anyways you will need to pass CK, so why not start today with a better plan....

Hey Preuba..Thanks for your reply. I am a US citizen with 2 yrs of clinical experience in the US.., excellent LORs from all of my attendings..and GPA of 4.0 for the clinicals and 3.0 from the basic sciences. I dont have any inside connection anywhere...and I have started studying already for CK again...just didnt have good situation during those 2 exams...anyways..thts not an excuse...I am still hopein somewhere some PD can take into his heart to give me an interview..because i know i can show them in person that i can be a great physician...:-(
