Hi, I got an invitation today. I am not sure if I will be able to attend because of conflicts with agenda. Should I schedule now and cancel later in case I can not make after all?

nopes...do that only if there is no other way out...

if you are so loaded with ivs...then try for scheduling it at a later date ..like in Jan (ill-advised if you like this program and it offers pre-matches)

They set the day for me. So I can not choose another day. Should I schedule to secure the interview spot and try to fix my agenda, and then if I can not make it, cancel the interview appointment later?

Give the program at least a week or two notice to try and fill the interview spot with another applicant. Cancelling the night before is not cool

So, bbb, it is ok to secure the interview spot now and cancel (in case I need to) 2 weeks prior to the scheduled date?

I want to secure as much interviews as possible, but do not want to cause trouble to programs.

If you think that you aren't going to be able to make it, then why bother with scheduling the interview? That's the PC in me talking. The real me says as long as you give enough time, then it should be okay if you cancel. But you could be hurting someone elses chance to interview because they may not be able to get a cheap flight to get there.
