somatization: variety of complaints in multiple organ system.More common in women and LSE states.

1. hypochondriasis vs factitious
hypochondriasis is an example of a somatoform disorder..which include group of disorders where both the symptom production and motivation are unconcious.eg hypochondriasis...there is nothing physically wrong with the patient but he truelly believes ther is.there are usually one or two symptoms that he keeps complaining ..and goes from doctor to doctor as he doesnt get relief.

factitious disorders are the kind of disorders that include "concious behaviour with an unconsious motivation...therefore are a compulsion'
eg...a pateints fakes all his symptoms and he knows he is faking it BUT doesnt know why he does it! he has no clue, its a compulsion.eg, munchausen

2. conversion disorder vs somatisation
these are both examplas of somatoform disorders which include "unconcious behavior with an unconcious motivation"...the patient is not conciously lying....he truely believes his symptoms to be true.
somatization-there is always a gamut of symptoms...often unrelated and vague...they keep on increasing over time.
conversion-single neurological which suggests a physical cause but is actually precipitated by a life stress.eg...patient loses sight after seeing her child get run over by a bus!
hypochondriasis belongs toi the same catagory.
3. munchausen vs malingering...
munchousen stated above.malingering...totally concious...botu the symptom production and the motivation.

this is not concise but i hope it helps to clear out any doubts

Thx to both of you
One way I remember it as stated above is that in conversion there is usually a stressful life event eg. (her boyfriend left her) and she gets symptoms.
In Somotazation there are numerous complaints
Hypochondrias is sometimes done by medical personeel
