Hi,

This question is not related to step 2 but I thought you may know something about it...

In the past a few years, ECFMG allowed any foreign medical graduate with any major to take the board and grant certificate if certain steps were passed. Since year 2002 or 2003, it has become more restricted. I heard there were cases that if the major in medical school is something other than clinical medicine like medical management, lab medicine may not be granted a ECFMG certificate. People majored in affiliated medicine may be still allowed to take the tests without being told there may be a problem obtaining the certificate later on. Is this true? Have you been or heard someone in this situation? What is the outcome?

Thanks
