Hello,

I was wondering if its time now to call up the programs that havent responded yet to have a final word. Will calling have any impact on the status (positive or negative)?

Thanx in advance

GL my friend.
I tried to call so many programs and they don't answer the phone or call me back, and of course they are not answering e-mails. This is a very busy time for PC then I will wait for news.

Hi everyone, calling the programs now may be not such a good idea, because they are busy and you call may be seen as negative not positive. Here is a copy of a message I recieved today from Huron hospital, many other programs probably feel the same....

Dear Residency Candidate,

Thank you for taking the time to apply to ERAS for a residency position
inGeneral Surgery at Huron Hospital.
We are sending you this message to let you know that we are still in
the process of reviewing over 500 ERAS applications, and we have not
forgotten about you.
Please be patient! We will contact all candidates by Email whether you
are invited for an interview or not. We ask that you please not respond to
this Email and please not call the program office. Contacting the program
office will not increase your chances for an interview. In fact, it may do
just the opposite!
Also, any information or documents that you wish to be considered as
part of your application must be submitted directly to ERAS and available for
us online. We do not accept documents by mail, fax, or Email.

Thank you for your cooperation.

so nice of them, they at least don't leave u clueless.i think (as has been mentioned here on this forum many times) not all programs notify u of ur status. so how would applicants know when they have been kicked out of the race? though such an email would keep the hopes high even until jan end, not hearing anything from them at all will delay applicants from accepting the truth and moving on!

I emailed the programs. Most were very nice and went out of their way to help me out...

Hi,

this is what i recievd frm huron hospital

Dear Residency Candidate,

Thank you for taking the time to apply to ERAS for a position in the
Internal Medicine Program at Huron Hospital.

We are sending this message to you again to let you know that we
are STILL IN THE PROCESS OF REVIEWING ERAS APPLICATIONS.
Since we recieved over 2200 applications we ask for your patience
and consideration. It will take time before we can review all of the
applications and contact all of the candidates.

We ask that you please NOT respond to this Email and please do
NOT call the program office. We will eventually contact everyone
who has applied to our program. Calling or Emailing us will not
increase your chances for an interview. In fact, it may have
the opposite effect!

In addition, information or documents that you want included in
your application must be submitted through ERAS. Information
sent to us directly by fax, mail, or Email will not be considered.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Internal Medicine Program
Huron Hospital

bbb,

would you rather get an email or call about the status of an application. i get that its really busy and dont want to call an make someone mad that i'm bothering them.

they r actually interviewing so we r on the ..second list...already???

Lilly - honestly? Emails I can't answer - there are just too many that come in. Phone calls I have to answer - even if I don't want to. It's frustrating because I can't get my job done, when I have so many phone calls, but I don't get mad. Well, I don't let you know that I am frustated (as honest as I can get).

Good luck.

hey everyone,
i called a few programs today and most of them said that they don't send out rejections, so if i don't hear from then till a certain time that means i'm not invited. some of them are gracious enough to let us know either way. some said that they are still reviewing.
all we can do is wait....and wait some more!!!

hey can u post those programs so that we dont end up calling them
