Hi friends, we know that flunking the step 1 or 2 CK has a very negative effect and in this competition we can surely say that its almost impossible to match. Does flunking the CS also have so much negative effect on the application?

If you can speak well it will not affect you, but out of the three this has the least effect.

it didnt used to affect early on..but competition is increasing more and now they tend to choose people who are already ecfmg certified and also done with step 3 so in other words it does play a role

no one can predict chances with one score.... if you dont try, you will never know what will happen... your score is not bad, its average... my advice would be that before September 1, 2007, pass all your exams and be ECFMG certified, and apply on 1st september with complete application... as you said you will be doing a few observerships, it might benefit you... Work hard & Leave the rest to your fate.... GL

Dr Chand, Probably I'm not in the position to give you an advice, I haven't even taken my CS yet but I'm still on this difficult road. I have personally talked to some PCs and they told me that they will look at application as a whole, not only the scores. I believe that. I think most of us have something else other than scores to put on the CV and it does matter. Experiences from your home country, other degrees, observorship, speaking other languages....do count. Move on and Good luck my friend, you are not alone

what i feel is that if scores arenot very good and not able to match this time then work on to improve your resume...like do some research, publication etc some good uslors ,usce etc anything u can do ,dont sit idle even if not this year...work on resume and one will get into a much better place next time..and it will b worth the wait so dont worry, karam karo phal ki chinta mat karo
