Hi friends, i want a very important information from you. I am a july 2004 passout. I scored 79,78 in step 1 & 2 (both n second attempt). I applied for residency this year but i dont think I can make it (no interviews yet). It think it will be difficult even in future even if i gain some USCE.
Friends, I want to change my profession and settle as a pharmacist if possible in US. Please guide me if this is possible. I am on a visitor visa at present in US.

hi profession,
I actually talked to my wife who is a pharmacist here about your situation and she tells me that generally, a pharmacy student pays 20.000$/y for tuition fee. If you are out-state, you pay double and if you are a foreigner, you pay 3x-4x the amount. Money is an issue here (at least I think). With a visitor visa, it seems to be diff to get into the pharmacy school unless you are sponsored by someone/organizations.
We have seen people with very low score + multiple attemps who do some voulnteers job in a hospital and get contract with that hospital. Of course we should show them our ability. Why dont you try that.
I'm still on this difficult road, moving very slowly

Relax buddy, if you can speak well, dont worry when the scramble comes be smart on the telephonic interviews.
Try to find an observership and lets hope for the best.
Dont even think of changing professions, you have already completed 2 hurdles, get ecfmg certified soon !

I would advise you to do some observership and try for 2008 match (incase u dont get interviews this year. but remember, there is still chance of getting it)
