This is a conflict, you have to satisfy officer that you will come back while you are telling him/her that I have job offer over there. It depends on your nationality, embassy location, and your supportive documents and the officer who interviews you. Make a scenario, prepare yourself for that day, answer every question based on your scenario and your rehearsals. GL

If you are on B-visa Doesn't need to tell anything particularly, just tell them I am coming US to have fun and visit the united states' historical and midern places and I am going to stay for 3-4 months. well that is not lie, you will celebrate and go outdoors if you match. if you want to assure the officer, you may say I am coming to attend an observership course in a hospital. Usually they don't ask you any documents, but you can get an observership offer from mount sinai in Maimi Beach in Florida, google mini residency, you will find it. Tell them exactly 3-4 months, so you won't end up with 3 months visa, and they will give you 6 months. as far as I see this your first time, so you should probably fill out a form for first comers to US. Keep in mind the whole process after getting off from plane to passing off the transit take around 3-4 hours. seat in front of flight, to get off quickly, and be at the head of the line for the "officer's gate". this will save your time a lot. why cant I say that I am coming for 4 interviews @ bah blah.. and will be living at such and such place durin my stay and this is my return ticket and I wil go back on __ date to resume my job at home country... I plan to say this as this is the truth and they know from my Visa application, that I initially obtained the B visa for CS exam, came to US in ___ month for the exam and left and now have arrived again legally for interviews... as nearly 30 % candidates for residency jobs in US do the same every year

sobia, I don't think it is illegal, because I declared my visa on ERAS as B-visa and everyone knows that I am on B. but they have offered me interview and expect me to attend the interviews. As you know, while you are on B1/B2 (Pleasue and Business), you can do everythig except working. Anyway, Hi Moozy, did you arrived US, I think you were wainting for clearance.

I have a habit of running into trouble everytime I do sumthing...I invited the immigration officer to grill me hard coz i didnt have an address to go to in USA...When the officer asked me why I didnt bother to have the address ,my justification was that i didnt have it on my first visit and i was allowed so i thought i wont need it this time...I gave him a phone number and he did some check on it and told me that it didnt exist ....And to make matters interesting I requested him to give me 6 months...Half hour of love talk and I was waving him goodbye with my 6mnth stamped passport.

Hi say you have come to US as many programs have selected you for residency, you plan to go and see the programs personally. I plan to stay initailly at abcd hotel Miami, form there i will be planning my next trip. I plan to be in US for abour 4 months. When you first meet the officer, say with a smile -- Good moring / evening ; how do you do sir / madam. Introduce yourself as a doctor and then go on to the other questions if asked. Never be nervous and to the best of my knowledge you will not have any trouble nless you have red flags like -- lost or duplicate passport. Dont carry any food items as this is your first trip and my last advice is dress casually in a t shirt and jeans if you do wear it , so that you are one in the crowd. One more advice never speak any other language other than english throughout your journey and stay in us to prevent unpleasant surprises.

$2000- 3000 for H-Visa $200- 300 for J-visa Programs usually pay for this, but sometimes for H, yes you shoud admit it.

Hi, I came to USA last week on b1/b2 visa.Immigration officer asked me about the purpose of coming to us.I confidently told him about the interviews .Nothing was asked after that.He stamped me 3 months stay. and then went outside his cabin for coffee. when i saw 3 mnth stay on my passport ,i came back n waited for him outside his booth or whatever u call it. he came an asked me what r u doing here . i told him that i need 6 mnth stay as IV sessions r till end of feb. and i might get more call .then he stamped me 6 mnth. The reason for me telling u this is that they really don' tpay much attention to ur answer. when i went back to officer after few min ,he didn't rem what was the purpose of my coming to US.and min d u i was the last person he interview before he left his booth. and when i told him the reason , he rewrote my 6 mnths stay. so guys don't worry much about interview at immigration n just confidently tell them the reason for ur visit. and if he ask the duration of ur stay do tell him that. and if u need more than the duration he stamp on urf passport then ask him to change but u should be having a solid reason for this.all the best

Sorry .Could you reframe your question and address it to the specific person who you think should answer it .This question seems to have great depth.
