hi misty,

sorry that you have not received any iv. perhaps, you may want to consider applying for more community programs to increase your chance for iv. what are your credentials btw? how many programs have u applied?

hi, misty, i am sorry for you. let's just hang on. i have 0 interview as well. i applied total 25 im. i know my problems. very old img (1995) and reside outside of usa now. my other credentials are average (94/86/pass, first attempt, long research experience, 2 us lors). don't know what to do. very very frustrated.

hang on people. I was in the same boat as you. I applied on september 16th and received my first inv on october 23th. It is hard for us, old graduates who need visa. very hard. (grad 2000) but its possible.

My advice: apply to more programs. 25 progs are few even for 99/99 IMG. Unless you associate high scores plus GC, you shouldn't apply to such a small number of progs. Also, select accurately your programs in order to be sure to meet their requirements, look for prog with many PGY1 positions, for those that consider the whole application and last, concentrate on your application (your PS). According to many sources, a program cannot choose you only based on your PS but my personal experience allows me to disagree. I actually applied to 2 ob/gyn programs few days ago and I received iv from them yesterday. The thing is, the only part of my application where my interest in ob/gyn is mentioned is my PS. I have no past experience in it, I have no lor related to it. Conclusion, everything is still possible, even in your case but you have to apply to more progs

hi, wamba, thanks. i know 25 is too few. but really no choice. after selection from the "cut-off line for year of graduation" and "visa", i just end up so few. do you have a list for old graduate?

  #8

Sing, I have no list but you can find if you visit the websites of all the programs listed in MyEras, you will surely find many prog without cutoff graduation year that sponsor visas (J1 or H1). I'm sure they are not just 25. I know it is a scutwork...

Misty, Not having yet your step 2 scores isn't good but many people here get iv with just one score. As I said before, apply to more progs, wait and pray.
