Simple question...

Does nerve damage cause muscle twitching?

And if it nerve damage causes muscle twitching, why does this occur?

Thanks...

if there is nevre damage, pt will develop signs of lower motor neurons, in tht muscle which is affected by the nerve damage!

signs will include, decreased tone, loss of DTR,atrophy and fibrillations!

fibrillations basically develop due to the release of preveiously stored acetylcholine granules in the damaged nerve endings...and will go on until the stores are exhausted!
