To find a post-doctoral research position you need to have some previous experience in research (basic or translational). Right now there is a lot of interest to hire foreign fellows who have an MD or MD PhD to work with normal volunteers. You can contact directly an investigator who is looking for a fellow or you can apply to a program that has a training grant to support fellows. Good luck

Hi! Look for translational research!. They usually do studies with normal volunteers or patients . I started as a post-doc fellow in clinical pharmacology where I did this kind of studies, my area of research is hypertension. You will have the best of both worlds, it is a great research experience, you can be first author in many publications, and you are considered a clinical researcher. If residency doesn't work for you there are plenty job offers in the pharm industry. Good Luck
