What is the first line treatment for management of preterm labor in terms of a tocolytic if there are no C/I to the use of beta agonists( ritodrine)

a) ritodrine

b) Mgsulfate.

UW says FDA approves ritodrine and at the same time says ritodrine is second line and first line is Mgsulfate though FDA doesnt approve....?? cant make out whats going on...

I think the answer would depend on the pt's clinical presentation. if pt. has renal insuff then use ritodrine, if pt. has heart dse, dm or uncontrolled hyperthyroidism use mg Sulfate.

I hope that answers your q. You're right ritodrine is FDA approved.
