Hi there

Although i cant say i m an expert or forum guru but i can say one if u can mange ur 1 read by 4 mnths n ur 2nd read in 45 days then it gives u sufficent time for a 3 rd revision plus u have to condition urself to attempt 300+ questions during the end then u r good to go. Mainly ppl do it faster as they r fresh grads but Old grads like me take time. it like finding a solution for ur ownself n see wht works for. its Suffice to that if u dont have to work or dont have any other financial responsibilities and can easily study for 12 hrs day then u would able to be finish in ample time

thnx so much for ur views guys.its such a big forum that im pretty sure thre wud be many ppl around who have a chalked out schedule of how to go about the step 1 prep in minimum time wid maximum efficiency.so i wud really request anyone who has that kinda solution to post it up here for the benefit of all us newcomers.
thnx.
and i agree tht if the person isnt working then he must be able to do the first read within 2-3 months. but the big wuestion is when to start doing the mcqs?????????after how many reads

do ques with your second reading. if possible q banks first then usmle world9 do this twice). agree with 3 months for the first reading, 2 months for the second, 1 month for 3 rd reading and 2 weeks for Fa. try to plan your study to finish in max 7 months and don't delay exam. good luck. and one more , choose one book for one subject and read it at least 3 times. pay much attention to path, pharm , physio. good luck

well I studied like 10 months (this is too much, will not recommend) and 1 month for gathering material. one more advice , don't stay more than 2 weeks on one subject, or you will run out of time. i think for first reading somthing like...anat 2-weeks, biochem 1 week, genetic and mollecular biol 1 week , immuno 5 days, micro 10 days, pharm 10 days, behavioral 1 week, physio 2 weeks, path 2 weeks. will be fine. if you are a fresh graduate you can do it faster. good luck and pray for me to do good in my exam ( 3 weeks away). Good luck
