i am doing UW right now.
i had query regaring few of its qts,i mailed it to them but there was no response.
they give a qt about vit B-12 def.,where we do schillings twest and on giving IF there is no rdioactive Cobalmne in ureine,guys does it not indicate pernecious anemia.....atrophic gastritis?
they said ileat malabsorbtion is the cause?

ileal abso is correct. despite giving IF there is no absoption. that means it is not deficiency. something boeynd that. ileal absoption could be the cause.

but when they say IF addition gives no rad. cobalmine in usrine what does it mean.
what i understand is that ,IF was missing and it has now been corrected.

sorry,i read goljan's. presence of radioactive cobalmin will mean its being absorbed,if its absent it means IF addition isnt helping the case.
